The Role

We are looking for an experienced HVAC CAD Technician Working within the Design Department alongside our existing Design team.

The role is to prepare comprehensive detailed design drawings in Autocad for Mechanical Building Services related installations, Heating, ventilation, hot & cold water, gas, drainage and air conditioning.

What you’ll need

• Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD (LT2010+), particularly Xrefs/Pspace
• Previous experience with HVAC Mechanical/Building services
• The ability to work unaided with a level of initiative.
• Good knowledge of mechanical plant/products.
• Attention to detail
• Ability to produce new working drawings from proposed scheme prints marked up for guidance.
• A drive to get involved in other parts of the process, we are a small team and there is scope to get involved with the administration, procurement and project management teams for the right candidate.

Other arrangements

The usual working hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, however where there is a business need these may vary from time to time

The Role

Thermatic are a HVAC Maintenance and Installation company. We work nationally for a number of blue chip clients and are currently recruiting an Engineering co-ordinator to work alongside the project management team, based in Manchester but visiting various areas of the UK.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced, driven Coordinator to manage all Service and Maintenance Engineers within our commercial Heating and Air Conditioning company. You’ll be working on a Full-Time basis (40 hours per week) and will be met with a generous salary alongside 30 days holiday, healthcare, pension and death in service following the successful completion of a 3 month probationary period.

The key aspects of the role

Working within the Service and Maintenance Department, the Facilities Coordinator will organize a team of 40 remote Engineers alongside planning work schedules, pre-plan maintenance and reactive works.

Your other responsibilities will include:
• Managing the day-to-day work load of engineering staff.
• Answer client calls and providing a high level of customer service.
• Administering all service and maintenance paperwork ensuring works sheets are checked, filed and sent to clients.
• Responding to reactive works and rescheduling other works accordingly.
• Ordering parts and access equipment and arranging returns.
• Subcontractor and supplier management.
• Auditing and managing electronic systems

We work nationally for a number of national main contractors, local authorities and housing associations and currently looking for an experienced Mechanical & Electrical estimator to take ownership of the role, reporting directly to senior management and dealing with clients of all levels.  

We are a commercial organisation with a purpose beyond profit, finding the right person for this key role is essential. The role requires a self-motivated and focused individual who will quickly establish themselves as a key member of the management team. 

Experience of working on Mechanical & electrical Packages within Social Housing would be a distinct advantage. 

The Key aspects of the role.

  • Prepare and submit prime cost estimates 
  • Liaise with internal and external engineers, consultants and subcontractors to construct and formulate estimates and resolve issues. 
  • Analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare estimates. 
  • Identify and provide alternative design proposals, solutions and value engineering options. 
  • Establish and maintain tendering processes and conduct negotiations. 
  • Carry out site surveys to establish project details / requirements and ensure project risks, health and safety and site establishment requirements are identified.
